The eight teams in the draw will be paired to play two-leg, straight knockout, home-and-away series, from March 9 - May 11, 2005. The CONCACAF Champions' Cup draw procedure will have two pots of four teams each; one containing two teams each from Mexico and USA and the other with the Caribbean representative and three from Central America. Teams will be paired by selecting one team from each pot.

The clubs that have qualified for the 2005 CONCACAF Champions' Cup are: the Kansas City Wizards and D.C. United from the USA; CF Monterrey and Pumas UNAM from Mexico; CD Olímpia (HON), CSD Municipal (GUA) and Deportivo Saprissa (CRC) from Central America; with the eighth spot to be claimed by the winner of the 2004 Caribbean Club Championship Final between Harbour View FC and Tivoli Gardens FC, both from Jamaica.

The Champions' Cup winner will earn a berth in the 2005 FIFA World Club Championship, a six-team tournament to be held in Japan in December 2005.
