A speedy forward who can also hold the ball up, Assengue joined the Revolution from Daga Young Stars, a regional team in his native country of Cameroon in Western Africa ... was discovered along with Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Osei by head coach Steve Nicol on a scouting trip to Ghana this past offseason ... Assengue signed with the Revs on March 26, 2009, and joined the team for the first time on April 7 after receiving his U.S. P-1 Visa.
