2021 (Philadelphia): Union Homegrown, Paxten Aaronson has made 14 appearances (five starts) for the Union during the 2021 MLS season...Made his first team debut when he was subbed on in the 89th minute of a win against Portland (May 30)...Made his second appearance for the Union during the club's 2-1 away loss vs. Orlando City SC (Jul. 22)...Made his first career MLS start at New England (Aug. 8) where he also scored his first career MLS goal, a curler from outside the box. The goal won MLS Goal of the Week (Week 18)...Scored his second goal of the season against FC Cincinnati (Oct.9)...Picked up his third assist of the season against FC Cincinnati (Oct. 31)...Made his first postseason start against NYRB (Nov. 20)..Made his second postseason appearance of the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs against New York City FC in the Eastern Conference Finals (Dec.5).
2020 (Philadelphia II): Aaronson made 14 appearances (10 starts) for Philadelphia Union II, scoring a goal and adding an assist in 923 minutes....Aaronson made his debut with Philadelphia Union II on July 23, 2020 again New York Red Bulls II. He earned his first start when the club faced NYRB II once again that ended in a 3-2 win for Union II (Aug. 5). On August 19, Aaronson signed a pre-contract with Philadelphia Union on August 19, 2020 to take effect on January 1, 2021. He scored his first professional USL goal when he came on as a substitute in a match vs. Atlanta United 2 (Sept. 3) and four matches later, he registered his first USL assist in a 4-0 victory over Loudoun United (Sept. 17).
Aaronson spent five years for the Philadelphia Union Academy and played with the Academy’s U13/14, U14, U15, U16/17 and U18/19 squads. Over the course of his time with the Academy, he made 77 appearances, 54 starts and scored 15 goals.
Aaronson has earned three caps for the U-20 USMNT.
