Miguel Aceval joined Toronto in the 2012 preseason.
The left footed player grew up in the legendary Colo-Colo system, where he played first team football from 2001-2007. The Chilean then left his native land for Uruguay to join Defensor Sporting, but returned home for Huachipato in the same year. He spent the next three years with Union Espanola (2009-2010) and Universidad de Concepcion (2011) before arriving in Toronto.
Aceval's ability on dead ball situations was noticed by the Chilean national team and the player was capped on September 4, 2011 against Mexico. The defender can play left back, centre back and holding midfield, and will be relied on for left footed set-piece situations.
