Career Summary

Manolo Sanchez, a Philadelphia native, spent his last three years of college at Clemson after transferring from Louisville. As a senior, he scored three goals and his six assists were tied for the team leader. He totaled 10 goals and 15 assists in 65 career appearances. Sanchez was chosen by New York Red Bulls with the 17th pick of the fourth round, 79th overall, in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. As an unsigned draft pick in preseason, the midfielder impressed in camp and scored the game-winning goal in the Red Bulls’ 1-0 victory against USL side Oklahoma City Energy FC. He was signed on March 2, 2015. Sanchez kicked off his college career in 2010 as a red-shirt freshman at Louisville. After his transfer to Clemson, he began his career by scoring two goals and a team high six assists. As a result of his impressive sophomore year, Sanchez was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. He would improve upon his first season with the Tigers the following year by scoring five goals and supplying three helpers. Prior to his college career, Sanchez led his high school league in points for three seasons and received league MVP awards his junior and senior seasons. He finished his high school career with 59 goals and 38 assists.
