Kwaku Nyamekye

Nyamekye was selected by the Crew in the fourth round (No 60 overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft but didn’t report to the club until he graduated from Harvard University in May, 2010. He has trained with the Black & Gold off-and-on since then.

At Harvard, Nyamekye started 71 of the 73 matches in which he appeared. He scored 11 goals and recorded six assists during his four years at the famed Ivy League institution. During his college career he was a three-time NSCAA All-Northeast Region Selection and was voted All-Ivy League all four years.

The Swiss defender of Ghanian descent went to the International School of Geneva where he was a five-year letter winner in both soccer and basketball.
