Brown is a tall center back who arrives in Houston after starring for Herediano in both the Costa Rican Primera Division and the CONCACAF Champions League.

INTERNATIONAL: Brown has two caps for the Costa Rica national team and made one appearance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2011.

OUTSIDE MLS: Brown has made 168 appearances in the Costa Rican first division, including 44 during the 2015-16 season with Herediano, one of Costa Rica’s largest clubs. The central defender helped Herediano win two league titles, the 2015 and 2016 Verano (summer season) tournaments. He scored the tying goal in extra time of the second leg of the 2015 Final, a penalty shootout victory over Alajuelense. Brown started both legs of the 2016 Final in May as Herediano defeated Alajuelense once again.

He was a regular starter as Herediano made consecutive appearances in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, including starts in both legs of the 2014-15 semifinals, a 6-3 aggregate series defeat to Mexican power Club América. The Puerto Limón, Costa Rica native debuted in the Costa Rican top flight in 2010 with Brujas FC.
