Somi, an experienced left-footed player, made 14 appearances with the Revolution after joining MLS in January 2018 following six professional seasons in Sweden.
INTERNATIONAL: The Örebro, Sweden native represents Syria on the international stage. He received his first international call-up with Syria prior to a pair of World Cup qualifiers on Oct. 5 and Oct. 10, 2017 and was on the bench for both matches.
OUTSIDE MLS: Somi has been a regular contributor during his senior career in Sweden, which includes over 130 combined appearances and more than 9,800 minutes played across all competitions. Since 2012, the left-footed defender has registered six goals with 12 assists. Somi's most recent professional experience includes two seasons with Östersunds FK (2016-17) in Sweden’s top-flight Allsvenskan, where he played in 44 matches, recorded four goals, and tallied five assists.
