Joining the Fire from Uruguayan giants Nacional, veteran striker Diego Chaves joins fellow countrymen, striker Gaston Puerari and assistant coach Leo Percovich in the Windy City for the 2011 season. Having began his career at the age of 18, the 25-year-old striker brings a great amount of professional experience in his home country as well as Mexico to what will be a mostly new front line for Carlos de los Cobos’ side in 2011.

2010: Appeared in 9 matches, scoring 1 goal with Mexican Liga de Ascenso side Veracruz, teaming with former Fire attacker Cuautehmoc Blanco…Transferred back to Uruguay with Nacional during the summer and appeared in 10 matches, scoring one goal, helping los Tricolores to a second place finish in the 2010 Apertura tournament.

2009-10: Appeared in 15 matches, scoring four goals for Queretaro in the Mexican Primera Division during the 2009 Apertura and 2010 Bicentenario tournaments…

2004-09: Appeared in 93 matches, scoring 27 goals over five seasons with Montevideo Wanderers in Uruguay, helping the side to the Copa Libertadores qualifying rounds in 2008.
