Selected by Philadelphia Union in the third round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft with the 51st overall pick. Hoppenot made his MLS debut on April 14, 2012 against the Columbus Crew.

2014: Appeared in 13 games, made one start, and logged 205 minutes of action. His lone start of the season came at LA Galaxy on May 25. Hoppenot spent a portion of the season with Harrisburg City Islanders on loan, helping lead the team to the USL Pro championship match against Sacramento.

2013: Played in 30 games starting two, logging 732 minutes. He registered three goals and two assists. He scored the game winner against Vancouver on July 27, 2013 and contributed an assist on July 3, 2013 against Real Salt Lake to keep the game tied, 2-2.

2012: Selected by Philadelphia Union in the third round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft with the 51st overall pick. Hoppenot made his MLS debut on April 14 against the Columbus Crew.  He scored his first MLS goal on June 23 against Kansas City in a 4-0 win.  He recorded his first assist on September 15 with a game-tying assist in a draw at Toronto.  He finished the season playing in 25 games starting in 3 games. He registered 4 goals and 1 assist in 817 minutes played and earned the nickname “Super Sub” because of the spark that he provided off the bench, all of his points were scored as a sub.
