Toronto FC announced on Wednesday that they have signed MLS SuperDraft selection defender Oyvind Alseth to an MLS contract. Alseth, 22, was selected out of Syracuse University in the third-round (65th overall) of January’s SuperDraft. Alseth worked very hard throughout Toronto FC's training camp, earning his spot on the first team roster. His ability to play down the right flank as a defender or midfielder gives TFC flexibility.

COLLEGE: Alseth was selected in the third round (65th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft from Syracuse University. In four seasons with the Orange, Alseth made 82 appearances, scoring seven goals and added 18 assists. Alseth captained Syracuse to the 2015 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship and finished as semifinalists in the 2015 NCAA College Cup (national championship) in his Junior Year. Syracuse made three NCAA Tournament appearances during Alseth’s four seasons with the Orange.
