Option declined following 2017 season.

A central midfielder, McKendry is a Homegrown player, the product of Vancouver's residency program. A Canadian youth international, the former University of New Mexico player adds depth to Vancouver's midfield corps, but as of 2017 has yet to make his MLS debut.

INTERNATIONAL: Holding both New Zealand and Canadian citizenship, McKendry represented New Zealand at U-20 level before making the switch to Canada, representing the country of his birth at both U-18 and U-20 levels. In January of 2017 he made his full national team debut.

OUTSIDE MLS: McKendry made his professional debut in 2015 with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in USL, making 21 appearances and scoring two goals. He played 20 more time for the Whitecaps 2 in 2016, adding two more goals.

COLLEGE: Played for the University of New Mexico, earning First Team All-Conference USA honors his sophomore and junior seasons. He was also named to the Third Team NSCAA All-Region team his junior year. Helped the Lobos reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament his freshman year, and the NCAA College Cup Final Four his sophomore season.
