World Cup: Arturo Vidal deemed healthy enough for Chile's final 23-man roster

Alexis Sanchez - Chile

Chile will have plenty of attacking prowess at this year’s World Cup with the inclusion in their 23-man roster of Barcelona forward Alexis Sánchez (pictured) and the Juventus duo of midfielders Arturo Vidal and Mauricio Isla.

There was some doubt over Vidal’s status after he underwent surgery in May to repair a tear to the external meniscus in his knee, but those worries were put to rest when head coach Jorge Sampaoli announced his final selections for Brazil on Sunday.

Left off the list was Marcos Gonzalez, who played for the Columbus Crew from 2006-07 and was shooting for his first World Cup at the age of 33.

Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro was another notable absence.

Chile is part of difficult Group B that also includes World Cup runner-up Spain, Netherlands and Austrialia.
