KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO
On tonight's game:
"It was a great three points. At times we were not as sharp as we wanted to be. Some things were a little out of whack in the midfield, but we got things worked out and ended up playing pretty well. At times we were not as sharp as we wanted to be, but it was the first time in a while we played with our full team. Also, especially in the second half, we played against a team that played way off of us. It can be hard to be as sharp as we want when we play against that lack of pressure."
On the crowd tonight:
"We are always thankful of the support we receive from the wonderful fans in Kansas City. We all are in this together and the louder the stadium is, the more it motivates us. We hope to continue to grow our passionate fan base and I hope everyone that came out tonight knows how appreciative we are of them."
KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD EDDIE JOHNSON
On freedom on the field:
"My last game here I had a hat trick and today I put another one in. Since I have been scoring, coaches have given me freedom on the field. With all the goals, I have been playing the loads of confidence and creativity."
On leading the league in goals:
"It's just a goal that I have set for myself. I want to score 20 goals this season. When you set your goals as high as I do and you only make it half way you are still very successful. Every day I try and think about how I can take this team to the MLS Cup, and I try and challenge myself every weekend."
KANSAS CITY WIZARDS DEFENDER JIMMY CONRAD
On the game:
"It wasn't a pretty game. The past few games we have been playing very pretty, but not getting the results. Tonight we did what we had to do to get the three points. I think that things are evening out a little bit, and we are getting a chance to work on some things we haven't been able to lately."
KANSAS CITY WIZARDS GOALKEEPER KEVIN HARTMAN
On tonight's game:
"After a string of frustrating games it was nice to have one go well. We have been up against some great goalkeepers in the past few games, and (Nick) Rimando was no exception tonight. He made a couple of stellar saves on Carlos (Marinelli). We were able to get one by him tonight and we picked up the win."
On his All-Star selection:
"It is a great honor because there are a ton of great goalkeepers in the league. I think that Matt Reis really deserves it. I was fortunate that Steve Nicol has a lot of respect for me."
REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JASON KREIS
On Eddie Johnson's goal:
"I thought it was a great goal. As a forward I thought he took a great first touch and was fortunate to have the ball come back off the post, but he was a professional and put it in. He is certainly a special player and he made the difference in the game tonight."
On team's effort:
"I don't have much of a reason to hold my head down after the game tonight. When I was coming off the field tonight I saw all the guys with empty tanks. That is all I can ask for as a coach. As the leader of them I think they put in a very solid effort tonight and I think we deserved to equalize late in the game."
REAL SALT LAKE GOALKEEPER NICK RIMANDO
On big saves:
"It is my job to make saves like that. I am expected to make the little saves, but when I make a big save it really lifts the guys and gives them confidence. Then we will get forward with more urgency and get chances for ourselves."
On facing Kansas City:
"I knew that I would have to make a lot of saves tonight. Kansas City has a high-powered offense and we knew we would be under pressure all night. They just kept coming at us."
REAL SALT LAKE MIDFIELDER CHRIS WINGERT
On joining a new team:
"I am excited to be here and I have just been trying to get settled in. It took a while to get the trade done, but I am here now and I am ready to help the team move forward. Overall, I am excited to be a part of the team."
On what he brings to the team:
"Hopefully I will bring some different things to the team. I will bring some versatility and some other things that the coaches are looking for. I think I will be a good fit here."
