Chivas USA has announced that single-game tickets for Chivas USA's 2009 Major League Soccer campaign are now on sale. For as low as $15 per game, soccer fans can support the Red-and-White at the world-class The Home Depot Center, as Chivas USA looks to qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. Chivas USA is also offering an unbeatable All-Star Pack, a five-game ticket package starting at just $50 that includes the best Major League Soccer matches in Los Angeles during the 2009 MLS season. CHIVAS USA PLAYERS AND COACHES AT THE CAL SOUTH SOCCER NATION EXPO THIS WEEKEND:
Cal South's annual Soccer Nation Expo will take place this weekend, Feb. 21-22, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Featuring player appearances, coaching clinics, equipment displays and much more, the event brings together soccer players, coaches, and families, and admission to the event is free. Chivas USA players including Jonathan Bornstein, Jorge Flores, Zach Thornton, Jim Curtin, Shavar Thomas, Justin Braun, and Atiba Harris will be on hand to sign autographs, as will Head Coach Preki and Assistant Coach Carlos Llamosa. 2009 CHIVAGIRLS SQUAD ANNOUNCED TODAY ON CDCHIVASUSA.COM:
After a successful tryout last Sunday at The Home Depot Center, the 2009 ChivaGirls squad was named today on cdchivasusa.com. CHIVAS USA CLOSES TRAINING STINT IN GUADALAJARA AND RETURNS TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA:
Chivas USA finished its 10-day preseason camp in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on Tuesday and returned to Southern California, training at The Home Depot Center on Thursday. The team has a pair of scrimmages this Saturday in Carson, first facing Hammarby IF of Sweden at 11:00 a.m., followed by UCLA at 1:00 p.m. The club's training camp took place at the Multigol complex adjacent to the Verde Valle complex that is home to Mexican partner club Chivas de Guadalajara, and was Chivas USA's first preseason trip to Mexico since 2005, the club's inaugural year.
RED-AND-WHITE RIDE LAHOUD GOAL TO 1-0 WIN OVER IRAPUATO:
Chivas USA spent its final day in Guadalajara in style, defeating Irapuato of the Mexican Primera 'A' Division by a 1-0 score on Tuesday morning. The Red-and-White's top draft pick from the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, Mike Lahoud, scored the game's only goal, and Zach Thornton kept a clean sheet for the win. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA UPDATE:
Chivas de Guadalajara is coming off a pair of tough results in the 2009 Clausura season, losing 2-1 in two consecutive games; first at Santos on Sunday, then at home to Toluca on Wednesday. Javier Hernández scored for Chivas against Santos, and Ramón Morales notched his second goal of the season against Toluca, and the two losses drop Guadalajara to second place in Group 2 with a 2-2-2 record (8 points), one point behind Tecos. Next up for Chivas is a visit Morelia on Saturday as the club looks to regain first place in its group.
