Weekly update: Pizza Hut Park visit

RSL Hopes to Deliver First Win at Pizza Hut Park Sunday Against FC Dallas

Carrying a two-game undefeated streak for the second time in 2007, Real Salt Lake (0-2-4, 4 pts.) will look to further that mark with its first victory of the season this Sunday, May 20, when the squad travels to the Lone Star State for its lone road contest this season at FC Dallas (3-3-1, 10 pts.). Kick-off from Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, is set for 5:00 p.m. MT, and fans can get ready for the match by tuning into Fox Sports Net-Utah at 4:30 p.m. for a half-hour pre-game show leading into the Western Conference tilt. RSL faithful can also follow the action live on the team's official radio partners: KALL-AM 700 "The Zone" (English) and KXTA-AM 1600 "La Bonita" (Spanish). RSL will be looking for its first-ever three-point result in Dallas, having collected an 0-4-0 mark against the "Hoops" during the past two seasons.

RSL and FC Dallas have already met once this season, the squads dueling to a thrilling 2-2 draw in front of 18,678 fans at Rice-Eccles Stadium on April 7 during the opening weekend of MLS action in 2007. RSL FW Jeff Cunningham scored both goals for the home side, equalizing in the 29th minute and putting RSL up 2-1 in the 51st minute. But Dallas found an equalizer of its own in the last of four minutes of second half stoppage time, striker Carlos Ruiz getting on the end of a desperate cross in a crowded goal box to give both teams a share of the spoils. The two Western Conference sides will wrap up their three-game season series early with an "ESPN Primetime Thursday" showdown on June 14 in Salt Lake City.

Monday's RSL-FCD Reserve Division Contest Postponed
Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas have announced the clubs will postpone their MLS Reserve Division contest, schedule to take place next Monday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m. MT (10:00 a.m. CT). The postponement was request by RSL due to its congested schedule that week, which includes a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in contest at the Colorado Rapids just two days later on May 23 in the Denver area. A make-up date for the Reserve Division fixture will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Adu and Seitz Join U.S. Under-20s for Friendly vs. Argentina Tomorrow
Real Salt Lake MF Freddy Adu and GK Chris Seitz are part of the 16-man roster called in by United States Under-20 Men's National Team Head Coach Thomas Rongen that will take on defending U-20 world champion Argentina in an international friendly being contested tomorrow evening in Rochester, NY. Kickoff for the match at PAETEC PARK in Rochester is set for 5:00 p.m. MT, and fans can follow the match live with streaming video coverage on ussoccer.com's MatchACCESS beginning at 4:45 p.m.

Adu and Seitz, two of 10 players on the U.S. roster that ply their trade in Major League Soccer, are expected to return to training with Real Salt Lake this Friday, May 18, in preparation for the club's road contest at FC Dallas two days later.

The Argentina match, which will mark the sixth meeting between the two squads at the U-20 level in the last five years, will give the Americans perhaps their best challenge in the build-up to the upcoming FIFA World Youth Championships in Canada, which kicks off on June 30. Argentina already made a trip north of the border last Friday, using a late goal to defeat tournament host Canada 3-2 at BMO Field in Toronto.

RSL Rewind: Rocky Mountain Cup Combatants "Own" Up to 1-1 Draw
Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids saw respective own goals in the first 15 minutes stand as the only scoring in their Rocky Mountain Cup showdown last Thursday night, resulting in a 1-1 draw in RSL's debut at the new Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. A deflected goal-mouth punch off of RSL DF Jack Stewart put RSL in an early hole just four minutes in, but MF Freddy Adu's redirected shot off the foot of Rapids DF Pablo Mastroeni in the 15th minute would bring the visitors back to square. The result, which marked the first time in MLS history a 1-1 match came about solely from own goals, gave RSL its first point on the road in 2007 and gave the squad a point in back-to-back games for the second time this season. RSL will return to the Denver area in less than two weeks' time to square off against the Rapids in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in contest next Wednesday, May 23, a match that will determine the last of MLS's eight spots in the 94th edition of U.S. Soccer's national championship.

Real Salt Lake's Roster Evolves with Signing of Kipré, Waiving of Rowland and Tejada
Real Salt Lake made three changes to its roster last Thursday, highlighted by the long-awaited signing of D/M Jean-Martial Kipré, who joined the club's Developmental Roster as a Youth International but will occupy one of the team's four Senior International slots. The club also on Thursday announced the waiving of forwards Jeff Rowland and Luis Tejada. Rowland saw his spat of hard luck at the professional level continue, as he saw his season end prematurely due to a severe knee injury for a second consecutive year. Tejada was released from the squad after making just one appearance, a two-minute stint off the bench in RSL's season opener on April 7 vs. FC Dallas. The moves bring RSL's available 28-man roster to 25 players, with all three available spots placing on its 18-man Senior Roster, including a Senior International position.

Veterans Eddie Pope and Chris Brown Join Jason Kreis for Tuesday's "Jerry Seiner RSL Coach's Show"
RSL Head Coach Jason Kreis made it through his first go around on the "Jerry Seiner RSL Coach's Show" last week with flying colors, and tomorrow the rookie coach will settle into a groove for the weekly broadcast on KALL-AM 700 "The Zone." Kreis will be joined by a pair of veteran leaders on RSL, DF Eddie Pope and FW Chris Brown, for this Tuesday's edition, which will be hosted, as always, by the voice of RSL, Bill Riley. Fans are invited to the friendly confines of the Iceberg Café at the Jerry Seiner Downtown Salt Lake GM Dealership (1530 S. 500 West in Salt Lake City) from 6:00-7:00 p.m. MT to see the show and ask their questions to the RSL trio in person.
