Kansas City Wizards Movie Trailers to Debut Friday
When you're out and about at the movie theaters this summer, look for the new Kansas City Wizards movie trailers. The campaign, designed to showcase the skills of each of the Wizards players, will run throughout the summer at eight theaters across the metropolitan area.
The trailers will be during the pre-show that airs prior to the movie previews. Get to the theater before the lights go out to check out the most exciting new commercial in Kansas City sports.
Along with the trailers, the Wizards will host two events at local theaters later this summer. Wizards players will be at Barrywoods 24 in Kansas City North July 14-15 and Studio 30 in Olathe August 4-5 to mingle with moviegoers and fans.
Produced by local firm Dimension by Design (DXD), the spots feature fast-action close ups of the players set to up-tempo music in a unique setting. Check out this never-before-seen concept in Wizards history. Alternate versions of the trailer shown on the big screen will be available later this summer at kcwizards.com. Can't wait for May 5? Join the Wizards and Sports Radio 810 Friday, May 4 on the Boulevard from afternoon until night. The party starts with food from Original Juan, the hottest Mexican food firm in town, and the Wizards and 810 will offer special $8.10 tickets to the Wizards home game against the Columbus Crew at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday at noon.
Wizards Take on Columbus Crew Saturday
The Kansas City Wizards face Eastern Conference rivals the Columbus Crew Saturday at noon CT at Arrowhead Stadium. The match will be surrounded by a festive atmosphere as two of the top teams in MLS fight for position in the conference standings.
Before the match, the Wizards will host a Nick Garcia look-a-like contest and performances by traditional Mexican groups Mariachi Campanas de America and Folklorico Atotonilco Dance Troupe. After the Game, Join the Wizards for Fiesta at El Patron
Immediately following the Kansas City Wizards match vs. the Columbus Crew Saturday at noon CT, join the squad for the hottest Cinco de Mayo party in Kansas City. The festivities begin at 1:30 p.m. and last until 1:30 a.m.
This 12-hour party will feature live music, performances by DJ Alberto and DJ Hustle-Lin and a live showing of the Oscar de la Hoya - Floyd Mayweather fight at 9 p.m. CT.
Wizards players and staff will attend the event following the game against Columbus. Come out to Arrowhead to support your hometown soccer team, then join them afterward for a rockin' party at El Patron.

May 26 Game Time Changed
The Kansas City Wizards match at New England Revolution originally scheduled to kick off May 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. CT has been moved up an hour and will now begin at 6:30 p.m. ET, 5:30 p.m. CT. The game has been moved in order to accommodate a double header featuring a match between Ireland and Bolivia that starts at 4 p.m. ET, 3 p.m. CT.
Metro Sports will still air the Wizards game live, beginning coverage at 5 p.m. CT with a pre game show and a 30-minute wrap up show following the match. As always, voice of the Wizards Sean Wheelock and former Wizards defender Brian Roberts will call the action live.

Dynamo Goes Biking for Good Cause

What: Dynamo the Dragon will join Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) at their annual Bike Show and Auction. The event to raises funds and awareness for abused and neglected kids in the Kansas City area.
Defender Jimmy Conrad Welcomes First Child
Kansas City Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad and his wife Lyndsey welcomed their first child into the world Monday. Daughter Julia Rose was born 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Jimmy and Lyndsey have been married since June 2002.
