Kansas City Wizards Invite Open Tryout Attendee Kevin Souter for Extended Trial

Midfielder Kevin Souter of Graceland University, an NAIA school in Iowa, becomes the first member of the last weekend's open tryout to be invited back for an extended look. Souter, a native of Portsoy, Scotland, was named 2nd Team NAIA All-American in 2007 and was an Honorable-Mention All-American choice when his team won the 2006 NAIA National Championship.

After impressing during the two-day open tryout, Souter will be given the opportunity to fight for a spot on Kansas City's 28-man roster. He will begin training with the Wizards at Tuesday's training session and will accompany the team to Argentina. The technical staff has indicated that 3-5 other players spotted at the open tryout will be invited back at various times over the coming months.

Over 225 players from more than 15 different countries participated in Kansas City's first open tryout since the 1996 season when MLS staged open tryouts in each MLS market.
