Romell Quioto - Houston Dynamo - preseason - 2019

It was a tale of two halves in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup on Saturday evening, in Tucson, Ariz., as the  Houston Dynamo picked up a thriilling 3-2 decision against the Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders were much the stronger side in the first half and raced out to a lead, before the Dynamo, who went down to 10 men midway through the second half, battled back and earned a draw on the night.

The Sounders took the lead 14 minutes in, as Victor Rodriguez dribbled into the 18-yard box, before setting up Nicolas Lodeiro who scored on an angled shot. Raul Ruidiaz doubled the lead for Seattle four minutes later.

A few minutes into the second half, Mauro Manotas drew a penalty for the Dynamo, but Romell Quioto’s attempt from the spot sailed several yards over the goal.

Just after the hour mark, Houston defender Aljaz Struna was sent off for a dangerous clothesline elbow on a Sounders player on the endline.

Juan David Cabezas put the Dynamo on the board in the 70th minute, as he pushed in a header that sailed across the six-yard box.

The Dynamo then completed the comeback in the 80th minute, tying the game as Marlon Hairston set up Ronaldo Pena on the score. The players reversed roles just before the 90th minute, as Hairston scored the go-ahead goal on the counterattack.
