TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan

The Vancouver Whitecaps overhaul continues, as the club have signed winger Alhassane “Lass” Bangoura on loan with option to buy from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.

Bangoura, 26, has spent most of his career in Spain, with a stint in France's Ligue 1. He has 11 goals in 187 appearances (102 starts) across all club competitions, between stints with Rayo, Granada CF, UD Almeria and State Reims. He made 19 appearances in the Spanish second division in 2017/18, but has played the bulk of his minutes in La Liga.

“Lass has the characteristics we look for in a winger,” Whitecaps head coach Marc Dos Santos said in a media release. “He’s explosive, good in one-vs-one situations, and he’s been exposed to a lot of different scenarios in Spain, France, and with his national team. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club.”

Bangoura has also scored four goals across 34 appearances for the Guinea national team.
