Chelsea and US men's national team star Christian Pulisic will be out roughly six weeks after injuring his right hamstring during Saturday's FA Cup Final, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard confirmed on Friday.

The news means Pulisic will be out not only for all of Chelsea's remaining matches in the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League, but also possibly the start of the next English Premier League season, which begins on September 12.

Despite battling some injuries, the 21-year-old Pulisic enjoyed a breakout year in his first season with Chelsea, scoring 11 goals and contributing seven primary assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Pulisic was exceptionally good after the summer restart, scoring five times in 11 games.

Chelsea resume UEFA Champions League action Saturday in the second leg of their Round of 16 fixture against Bayern Munich, after losing the first leg 3-0.
