The gaze of the soccer-playing world is firmly fixed on Zürich, Switzerland, for Thursday's 2018 and 2022 World Cup announcments, but the future of the American team will take the field in Phoenix at the Nike International Friendlies.
Wilmer Cabrera's U-17 squad plays South Korea on Thursday, followed with a match against Brazil two days later and a capper against Turkey on Dec 5.
Seventeen of the players in Arizona also featured on the U-17s' trip to England in early November. They include Mario Rodriguez and Andrew Oliver, who scored in the side's 2-2 draw with Manchester City's youth squad. Midfielder Dillio Serna and rising defensive star Kellyn Acosta are also on the team.
Striker Paul Arrilola and Chivas de Guadajara product Luis Martir are two of the three newcomers. The other, Matt Dunn, is the only member of the team who isn't a part of the Bradenton residency program. The central midfielder now calls FC Köln home, although he was born in Dallas and spent time with FC Dallas before moving to Germany.
All three US matches can be seen live on Fox Soccer Channel. All times are Eastern, and all matches will be held at Reach 11 Field Four in Phoenix.
