Josh Sargent marked his return from a month-long injury absence in ideal fashion on Sunday, earning the start and scoring twice for Werder Bremen in a training match vs. Hannover 96.

The US national team teenager's first-half brace provided the winning margin for his side in a 3-1 result as they count down to the end of the Bundesliga's winter break, and it showcased several of the top skills in his toolkit:

Sargent had been nursing a muscular injury, variously described as a groin and hamstring ailment, that flared up in a 3-2 road win over Wolfsburg in early December. The 19-year-old St. Louis native has scored two goals and two assists for his club in 11 league appearances (six starts) this season. He's netted three times in six appearances for the USMNT.

Sargent and Bremen return to league play on Saturday with a visit to Zack Steffen's Fortuna Dusseldorf.
