U.S. Open Cup tickets on sale June 19

Chicago Fire Soccer has announced tickets for the July 1 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Third Round game at TOYOTA PARK go on sale Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. CT.


Tickets for the game are priced as follows - Club Seats ($65), Premier ($35), Corner Kick ($25), Firehouse ($20) and Supporters ($15). Fire season, club and suite ticket holders can use Bonus Game 4 for their ticket to the game and Bonus Game Parking Coupon B.


Tickets can be purchased by calling 888.MLS.FIRE, logging on to Chicago-Fire.com or through Ticketmaster outlets. Fans can also purchase tickets by visiting the TOYOTA PARK Box Office Monday-Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CT and three hours prior to kick-off.


A Buy 1, Get 1 free ticket offer for the Open Cup match-up is available for Corner Kick & Firehouse seating areas only by purchasing in advance at the TOYOTA PARK Box Office, or on day-of-game at TOYOTA PARK. Groups of 15 or more can also take advantage of the Buy 1, Get 1 free offer by calling 888.MLS.FIRE.


Chicago's opponent for the match will be determined on Tuesday, June 24 when the Cleveland City Stars (USL2) plays at the Minnesota Thunder (USL1). These clubs play in the United Soccer League with USL1 being the league's first division and USL2 its second division. These leagues are considered the second and third tier of professional soccer in the United States respectively.


The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. It is the oldest annual team tournament in U.S. Sports history and among the oldest soccer tournaments of its type in the world. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor long-time soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.


Should the Fire win on July 1, their next game would be July 8 at a site to be determined. The tournament's semifinals are scheduled for Aug. 12 with the final set for Aug. 26.


The Fire (6-4-1, 19 pts.) return to MLS play this Thursday, June 19 at Chivas USA at 9:30 p.m. CT (ESPN2). Chicago's next MLS home game is Saturday, June 28 vs. San Jose. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:30 p.m. at TOYOTA PARK (My50 Chicago).
