US international Tim Weah returns from injury for Lille, Jonathan David starts

Tim Weah - USMNT - U-20 World Cup

US international Tim Weah is back in action, making a substitute appearance for French club Lille in a 1-0 win against Reims on Sunday.

Jonathan Bamba was the goal-scorer for Lille, finding the game-winning tally in the 32nd minute. Weah entered the match in the 78th minute, and had a notable chance to score in stoppage time that he put wide of the far post.

It was Weah's first competitive action since he suffered a torn hamstring on Feb. 16 against Marseille. He had previously missed six months with the same injury, so hopefully this will mark the beginning of a clean bill of health moving forward for the 20-year-old. Weah signed with Lille last year after previously suiting up for Paris Saint-Germain.

He wasn't the only Concacaf player to feature for Lille in the match. Canadian striker Jonathan David, who was officially transferred from Belgian side Gent earlier this month, was in the starting lineup and played 69 minutes before getting subbed off for Luiz Araujo.
