Transfer Watch: Croatian Ivica Olic says he's in contact with Seattle Sounders and Orlando City

Ivica Olic - Transfer Watch

The summer transfer window may have only just closed, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early for the winter rumor mill to get started.

Hamburger SV and Croatian international Ivica Olic lit up the hot stove on Wednesday, telling German outlet Bild that he’s considering a move to MLS – potentially as soon as this winter – and that he’s already been in touch with the Seattle Sounders and Orlando City SC.

Olic, 35, said he didn’t want to move to Seattle this summer because of Croatia is in the middle of qualifying for Euro 2016 and he wanted to remain nearby for their qualification matches.

“In the winter we make a decision,” he told Bild. “Anything can happen.”

A longtime veteran of the German Bundesliga, Olic joined Hamburg this January from Wolfsburg. He has two goals in 18 appearances in his second stint with HSV, coming off the bench in both of his appearances this season. The former Bayern Munich and CSKA Moscow man has 101 career caps with Croatia, appearing for his country at the 2002, 2006 and 2014 World Cups.
