After back-to-back emotional wins over Eastern Conference foes, Toronto FC look to keep the ball rolling against a Houston Dynamo side that have won just once in nine games away from BBVA Stadium when the sides meet Saturday night at BMO Field.
Toronto FC (8-8-5) moved above the playoff line and into sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls Wednesday night at home. Jozy Altidore opened the scoring with a sensational backheel flick in the 6th minute, before Alejandro Pozuelo doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 26th minute. The Red Bulls clawed back on a Tom Barlow tap-in in the 63rd minute, only for Ashtone Morgan to close the door nine minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive blunder.
In the 6th minute of their game Wednesday night, the Dynamo (8-9-3) were reduced to 10 men when Alberth Elis was sent off on a straight red card after making contract with referee Chris Penso, all while arguing a booking he received seconds earlier. Atlanta pounced, scoring twice inside the opening 30 minutes and three more times in the final half hour to cruise to a 5-0 home win.
