Toronto FC trades Conor Casey to Rapids

Toronto FC announced Friday that they have traded forward Conor Casey to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a third round draft pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, an allocation and the MLS rights to Canadian player Riley O'Neill.

Casey joined Toronto March 5, 2007 from FSV Mainz in the German Bundesliga. The club used their top allocation to secure the American - a spot they acquired during the MLS Expansion Draft in November.

"We're sorry to see him go, but adding three (new players) to lose two, it made sense on our part." said Head Coach Mo Johnston.

In his short time with Toronto, Casey came on as a substitute twice, playing a total of 58 minutes.
