TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

Toronto FC announced on Monday the acquisition of goalkeeper Quentin Westberg, a French-American dual national with Ligue 2 experience. Westberg will be added to the Reds’ roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and Canadian work permit.

Westberg, 32, arrives from AJ Auxerre in Ligue 2, where he made 20 appearances and recorded seven clean sheets across all competitions.

Born in France to an American father and French mother, Westberg chose to represent the United States internationally and has played at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 youth national team levels.

Westberg started his youth soccer career with FC Saint-Cloud before moving to Paris Saint-Germain. From there he joined FC Issy-les-Moulineaux, and after one season was selected to attend the prestigious Clairefontaine academy. After four years at Clairefontaine, he signed a youth contract with Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne (Troyes AC) Academy, going on to make his professional debut for Troyes in 2006.

Westberg also played for Thonon Evian, Luzenac AP, Tours and Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08 FF.
