Providence Park THUMB ONLY

Ever wonder what major renovations to a stand at a world-class soccer stadium look like over 20 months? Well, the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns have you covered.

The clubs released a timelapse video of how the makeover at Providence Park unfolded, culminating with Saturday's grand re-opening against LAFC, as well as the Portland Thorns' return home the next day. Check it out:

The renovations were done by Allied Works Architecture, led by Timbers fan Brad Cloepfil.

Back home for the first time all season, the Timbers fell 3-2 to LAFC, with a playoff environment enveloping the match. The Thorns fared better, beating the Chicago Red Stars 3-0 in their return.
