Tickets for MLS Cup 2007 on sale now to general public

NEW YORK - Tickets for MLS Cup 2007, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, are now on sale to the general public. An one-week exclusive presale for Visa cardholders has ended. Now, soccer fans who act quickly can secure the best seats to Major League Soccer's championship match.


Tickets may be purchased online at www.mlscup.com, or by calling D.C. United's ticket office at 202-587-5000, or at all Ticketmaster locations.


Visa cardholders can still access priority seating locations when ordering with their Visa card through D.C. United's box office and Web site or through www.mlscup.com, as long as seating inventory is available.


The 12th edition of this premier soccer event will be played on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET at RFK Memorial Stadium in Washington D.C. This will mark the third time MLS Cup has been held in the nation's capital at the home of D.C. United. The game will be broadcast live on ABC Sports and Telefutura.


The previous 11 MLS Cups have attracted nearly 407,000 fans (an average of 36,987 per game) to see MLS' season-ending championship. Last year's game was held at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas home of FC Dallas and drew a sellout crowd of 22, 427 to watch the Houston Dynamo defeat the New England Revolution 4-3 on penalty kicks.

MLS Cup 2007 is the 12th annual championship game of Major League Soccer and will match the league's Eastern and Western Conference Champions in a single match finale. The two contending teams will be determined on the weekend of Nov. 10-11. MLS Cup 2007 will include three days of game related activities (Nov. 16-18) in the Washington D.C. area.
