Sounders' Nicolas Lodeiro wins AT&T Goal of the Week with clinical volley

Nicolas Lodeiro makes the Seattle Sounders go, and this week he also drove the AT&T Goal of the Week train.

The do-everything Uruguayan playmaker made the difference in Seattle’s 1-0 defeat of Real Salt Lake with a gorgeously-executed full volley of a Cristian Roldan cross, backpedaling to lace the chance past Nick Rimando before crashing to the CenturyLink Field turf. The effort cruised to the top of the Week 6 poll with 58% percent of the vote.

Finishing in a distant second is Philadelphia Union talisman Alejandro Bedoya, whose clutch late winner vs. FC Dallas garnered 17% of ballots cast.

LAFC star Diego Rossi earned 9% for his first-time curler, part of his hat-trick performance vs. D.C. United, putting him in a tie for third with the wicked free kick by FCD’s Reto Ziegler. CJ Sapong of the Chicago Fire reaped 7% of the vote for his clinical late equalizer in Toronto.
