Secondary market for MLS Cup tix could be most expensive in nearly a decade

Mercedes-Benz Stadium -- full stadium tifo - conference final

Despite the more than 70,000 seats at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, prices on the secondary market for the 2018 MLS Cup could be the most expensive in nearly a decade, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Doug Roberson.

As of Friday, the average resale price for the game between Atlanta United and the Portland Timbers on Saturday night (8 pm ET | FOX, UniMas, TSN, TVAS) was $293 at, Roberson writes.

If demand takes prices higher, that could push the average resale price above the $335 of last year's MLS Cup, despite the much smaller 30,000 capacity of BMO Field.

Atlanta has already drawn more than 70,000 fans to both its home playoff games in 2018, setting a single-game playoff attendance record in the process. This year's regular-season average attendance of just over 53,000 was good for an MLS record.
