Jonathan Campbell - Kei Kamara - dual for ball

The Seattle Sounders have acquired defender Jonathan Campbell in a trade from the Chicago Fire for a 2020 fourth-round SuperDraft pick.

Campbell, 25, made 72 appearances for the Fire since being drafted in 2016 by the club. The center back only made 19 starts over the last two seasons, though, after racking up 30 in his rookie season.

“Jonathan is a young, talented player who we think can provide some depth for us heading into 2019,” Sounders general manager and president of soccer Garth Lagerwey said in a media release. “We are looking forward to bringing him into camp and seeing how he fits into our group.”
