With health experts advising the population remains at home during the COVID-19 pandemic to limit its spread, San Jose Earthquakes defender Tommy Thompson has an idea for how to keep your skills sharp.

Thompson started a "Stay at Home" challenge on Twitter, sharing a video of several skill-specific exercises that can be done at home. You just need a ball and some open space.

He also urged fans to send him videos of other exercises that he could share.

Thompson, 24, signed a Homegrown contract with San Jose ahead of the 2014 season. He's since made 125 appearances, registering three goals and five assists across that span.

The longtime midfielder broke out last year under new head coach Matias Almeyda in his new position and new system. He's started both games of the 2020 season so far, which is currently suspended for at least 30 days. The league has also issued an updated updated training moratorium through March 20.
