Revolution announces 2008 schedule

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution today announced its 2008 regular-season schedule, a 30-game slate that begins March 29 and ends on Oct. 25. Major League Soccer also announced that the Revolution is one of four MLS teams participating in SuperLiga, the U.S.-Mexico club tournament featuring a $1 million grand prize for the winner.

For the first time in team history, the Revs will host a season-opening match at Gillette Stadium. On Saturday, March 29, New England will face the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. in a rematch of MLS Cup 2007 that opens the 2008 schedule.

The Revolution will have 18 of its 30 matches televised nationally, with six ESPN Primetime Thursday matches, four exclusive Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Soccer en Español telecasts, six HDNet broadcasts and two TeleFutura matches. Twenty of the Revs' matches - including those with national broadcasts on HDNet and Telefutura - will be televised by the team's exclusive regional partner, TV38 (WSBK-TV).

While the Revs will play six of their first 10 matches away from Gillette Stadium to open the season, the team will close the campaign with five of their last nine at home, including a Saturday, Aug. 30 match against the Los Angeles Galaxy.

New England will play just one MLS game during the month of July - a Fourth of July meeting with the Galaxy at The Home Depot Center - before playing in SuperLiga group play for the rest of the month. D.C. United, Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA will join the Revs in SuperLiga. More details about the tournament will be announced at a later date. The 2008 MLS All-Star Game will be played in Toronto on Thursday, July 24.

Revolution season ticket packages, which include tickets to all 15 Revolution home games, five additional soccer events and free parking, among many other amenities, are on sale now. Call 1-877-GET-REVS or visit www.revolutionsoccer.net for more information.
