CARSON, CA - The Los Angeles Galaxy reserves (1-3-1, 4 pts.) fell to the Kasas City Wizards Reserves (3-2-1, 10 pts.) 2-3 on Sunday morning at The Home Depot Center on the Campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. Forward Gavin Glinton took care of the scoring for Los Angeles, notching in one goal in each half. Kansas City counted on two goals from forward Willy Guadarrama and a single from forward Yusa Movsisyan to give them the Sunday morning win.
The Kansas City reserves opened the scoring in the 6th minute, after a first attempt shot was deflected by Galaxy goalkeeper Steve Cronin, bounced to the Wizards' Guadarrama for a first touch tap into the bottom left corner to give them a one goal lead.
Los Angeles netted an equalizer in the 13th minute of the match with a shot from inside the box from Gavin Glinton that beat Wizards' goalkeeper Eric Kronberg just inside the left right corner. Galaxy midfielder Quavas Kirk initiated the play sprinting down the left flank to drive a ball into a racing Glinton into the opposition's box.
In the 29th minute, Kansas City regained their lead with a shot from Movsisyan just a meter into the center of the box to take a 1-2 lead.
The Wizards kept the pressure on, with another goal from close range from Guadarrama in the 32nd minute (1-3).
In the 40th minute, Wizards' defender Jose Luis Burciaga got behind the Galaxy defense before being taken down by the Galaxy's goalkeeper. Burciaga was awarded a penalty kick that was deflected by a right dive from Cronin.
Turks and Caicos' international, Gavin Glinton, put the Galaxy reserves within a goal in the 66th minute with a right footed shot eight meters from the Wizards' goal.
Despite keeping the pressure on the Wizards' defense, Los Angeles was unable to score the equalizing goal to give them their second tie of the season.
