Reserves: Crew 1, Fire 0

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Crew Reserves evened their record on the season with a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire Reserves in a Major League Soccer Reserve contest today at the TOYOTA PARK practice field. Kei Kamara notched the game-winning goal in the 61st minute as the Crew Reserves improved to 2-2-1 on the season.

Crew forward Eddie Gaven hit a shot in the 22nd minute that took a bounce and nearly slipped under the crossbar, but Fire keeper Jon Busch effectively tipped the shot over the goal to record the save. In the 43rd minute, Busch came up with another great save as he dove to his right to stop a header from Kamara. After making the initial save, Busch - while still on the ground - punched the ball away from danger, preventing a second shot.

The Crew broke through in the 61st minute when Gaven crossed a ball from the right corner to Kamara who was positioned at the top of box. Kamara sent a hard shot to the left side of Busch to score the lone goal of the game. The Fire Reserves' best chance came in the 73rd minute, but midfielder Mike Banner's shot from the top of the box was blocked by Crew midfielder Danny Szetela.

The Crew Reserves return to action on Sunday, June 17, at New England.
