TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports
A busy couple of days for Real Salt Lake continues with news one player is reportedly heading to Liga MX while another is returning for 2020 and beyond.
Bofo Saucedo is reportedly on the verge of a two-year deal with Pumas UNAM in Liga MX. The 22-year-old attacker, who spent the last three seasons with RSL, previously competed for Veracruz on a season-long loan in 2016.
The Homegrown winger was out of contract with RSL following the 2019 season. Provided that RSL made him an offer, they would retain his rights within MLS if he signs with Pumas.
Marcelo Silva’s option was declined, but according to Sam Stejskal of The Athletic, RSL have agreed to a new deal with the 30-year-old center back.
Silva was available for Stage 1 of the Re-Entry draft, but wasn’t among those available for selection for Tuesday’s Stage 2. The Uruguayan has started 41 of the 46 games he’s played in during his three years with RSL since arriving from Real Zaragoza in Spain’s Segunda Division.
This comes on the heels of Brooks Lennon being traded to Atlanta United on Monday and RSL announcing Freddy Juarez as head coach and Elliott Fall as general manager.
