TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic riding into the sunset after two eventful, goal-heavy seasons in Southern California, the LA Galaxy are sizing up another former Paris Saint-Germain striker as his replacement, according to new reports out of Italy.

Edinson Cavani was linked to 2020 MLS expansion side Inter Miami over the summer, but now transfer-market specialist Gianluca Di Marzio is among those reporting that the Galaxy could swoop in to beat the newcomers to the Uruguayan’s signature, while Sky Sports Italy has also echoed the link.

Cavani, 32, is very much in the Ibra mold of a lanky, well-rounded No. 9, albeit with a somewhat less headline-driving personality. He's been a prolific scorer at every stop in his career, first rising to prominence in Italy with Palermo and Napoli before becoming one of PSG's galactico-type signings in 2013.

He's scored well over 100 goals for the Parisians and also owns a healthy scoring record at international level, including strikes in the 2010, 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
