Report: Toronto FC open to bringing back Dwayne De Rosario; Richard Eckersley not likely to return

Dwayne De Rosario celebrates his goal for DC at Chicago in US Open Cup

Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko recently spoke candidly recently about players he hopes are suiting up for the Reds in 2014, including a possible return of Canadian international Dwayne De Rosario, according to a Toronto Sun report.

Bezbatchenko said that a DeRo return "could be a possibility" and that he "would fit the bill in terms of someone we’re looking for,” according to the report.

The club is also looking to come to terms with Bobby Convey and Robert Earnshaw, according to the Sun.

While Bezbatchenko expressed his interest in having certain players on the Reds 2014 club, he said that a return of Richard Eckersley is unlikely. After speaking with Eckersley's agent, Bezbatchenko said, "I don't think he'll be back."

The Toronto GM said he's confident that by next week the team will come to terms with another DP, and during the offseason he hopes to land two DPs from the list of "three to five" the club has identified as targets.
