TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Felipe Gutierrez is on the radar of Ecuadorian side L.D.U Quito, according to a report from FutbolEcuador.com, but the Chilean international says he doesn't have a desire to leave MLS anytime soon.

Gutierrez, 29, signed with SKC ahead of the 2018 season and is currently in the midst of a three-year contract that includes an option for 2021, meaning any potential move would have to be a transfer. But according to his recent appearance on DirecTV Chile, Gutierrez isn't going anywhere soon:

"I want to stay four or five more years at the club [Sporting KC]. I've had really positive years and I'm very happy," he said.

Gutierrez is not the first MLS player that L.D.U. Quito has reportedly been linked to in recent days. Orlando City SC midfielder Sebastian Mendez was floated as another target of the club, but that deal never materialized.

The Ecuadorian giants are in the market for a midfielder due to the likely departure of starter Jefferson Orejuela, who has been playing for the club on loan from Brazilian side Fluminense.

Gutierrez has established himself as a standout performer for SKC head coach Peter Vermes, with 19 MLS goals in 52 appearances and a versatile skillset that has allowed him to slot in all across the midfield. Watch some of his best goals below:
