Has Mike Petke's work in turning around Real Salt Lake's season -- even though the Claret-and-Cobalt fell short of the Western Conference postseaso -- earned him a new deal at Rio Tinto Stadium?

ESPN's Julie Stewart-Binks tweeted Monday that Petke, who took over in late March after Jeff Cassar's firing, would sign a three-year extension with RSL after they went 12-13-3 on his watch and won six of their last 10 matches.

The club had no immediate comment on the report. But on Sunday, after RSL were eliminated, despite closing the regular season with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City, the club tweeted Petke's thanks to RSL's fans and comments looking forward to 2018.
