Paxton Pomykal has agreed to a new, long-term deal with FC Dallas, according to The Athletic's Sam Stejskal. The new contract will run through 2023 with a team option for 2024.

Pomykal, 19, has been a breakout star for club and country in 2019. The Homegrown product made 25 regular-season appearances while starring at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup and earning his first senior USMNT cap.

In the wake of the Under-20 World Cup, there were reports of interest from clubs overseas, but FC Dallas immediately made clear their intention to keep him with the club.

The Texas native is one of the most highly touted products of the FC Dallas academy and he told his story in this special feature:

Pomykal will look to carry FC Dallas deep into the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs after they clinched a berth on Decision Day presented by AT&T, with a 6-0 win over Sporting KC. They now travel to face the Seattle Sounders in Round One of the playoffs.
