CF Montreal - New logo

CF Montreal appear to be bringing in a new attacking piece, with a Monday release from Argentine side Newell's Old Boys stating that winger Joaquin Torres will join the MLS club on loan for the upcoming season.

The loan includes an option to buy, according to the club's release.

Torres, 24, has been with Newell's since 2015, registering 42 first-team appearances with two goals and two assists. The winger also spent time on loan in 2019-20 with Greek side Volos, where he netted five goals and two assists in 27 appearances.

Torres was a highly-regarded prospect coming up with Newell's, making a splash after first getting regular playing time during the 2017-18 season. But he's since fallen out of their plans, so perhaps an MLS move will give him a chance to compete for minutes more regularly.
