Wednesday, 1:12 pm ET: Further recruitment may be on the horizon for the LA Galaxy after the club started 2019 in a winning fashion.

According to Yahoo Sports' Doug McIntyre, the Galaxy are close to signing US international Joe Corona, currently at Club Tijuana in Mexico.

Corona, 28, has represented the USMNT on 23 occasions and has spent his entire career in Mexico since leaving San Diego State University in 2010.

With Tijuana, he has 195 appearances with 11 goals, though has made just three league appearances under new manager Oscar Pareja, who took charge of Xolos this winter after leaving FC Dallas. The midfielder spent time at Club America as well and is a two-time Liga MX champion. He helped lead America to Apertura championship in December, starting the first leg of the final against Cruz Azul and coming off the bench in the second leg.

McIntyre added that the Galaxy expect that he'll be available to make his debut on Saturday against FC Dallas (3:30 pm ET | Univision in US; MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).

On Tuesday, the Galaxy were linked with 2018 World Cup winner Adil Rami.
