UPDATE, 10:30 am ET, Dec. 27: The Athletic's Paul Tenorio on Friday added another respected voice to those reporting an Agudelo-to-Miami move, adding that the Colombian-American talent will be signing at a lower salary number than the wages he was making in New England (his 2019 guaranteed compensation was just north of $600,000, according to MLS Players Association documents)...

Although he appeared set for a move to Toronto FCJuan Agudelo could be on his way to expansion side Inter Miami CF, according to a Monday report from the Toronto Sun.

The experienced 28-times capped U.S. international was selected by Toronto in Stage 2 of this month's MLS re-entry draft, but the sides reportedly couldn't work out an agreement on compensation, paving the way for the move to Miami.

Agudelo is a known MLS commodity, most notably with the New England Revolution, where he played in 2013 and from 2015-2019. He started his professional career as Homegrown player with the New York Red Bulls from 2010-2012 and made 26 appearances for Chivas USA from 2012-2013. Overall, Agudelo has tallied 46 goals and 22 assists in 215 career MLS games.

The Revs declined their contract option on Agudelo last month prior to TFC acquiring his rights.

The move would potentially give Miami another forward option for its inaugural MLS roster to go along with previous signings Julian Carranza and Jerome Kiesewetter.
