TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Jesse Gonzalez has established himself as FC Dallas' starter and a new report suggests the goalkeeper is set to remain at the club.

Paul Tenorio of The Athletic reported on Thursday that Gonzalez will be signing a new "long-term contract" with FC Dallas amid recent interest abroad.

Gonzalez, 24, started 32 regular-season games in 2019 for Dallas, as well as the team's dramatic Round One loss in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. A Homegrown signing at the club in 2013, Gonzalez made his first-team debut in 2015 with a strong run of performances at the end of the season, culminating in a run in the playoffs that year. All told, he has made 99 MLS regular-season appearances to date in his career, to go with five MLS Cup Playoffs games.

A dual national, Gonzalez has spent time in the set-ups of both Mexico and the US national team, but he officially declared for the USMNT and was a member of the 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup squad that won the title.

FC Dallas will open the 2020 MLS regular season on Feb. 29 at home against the Philadelphia Union.
