FC Dallas have sold 18-year-old Homegrown midfielder Alex Zendejas to Chivas, according to a report from Goal.com’s Ives Galarcep and Jon Arnold.

Galarcep and Arnold reported on Thursday that Dallas and Chivas finalized a deal for Zendejas this week, with the Liga MX club paying FCD a transfer fee “believed to be around $500,000” for the US youth international.

Zendejas signed a Homegrown deal with Dallas in October 2014. The El Paso, Texas native made eight MLS appearances for the club in 2015, but has not appeared in a contest this year. He only recently returned to training after missing time due to a pelvic injury.

A US youth international at multiple levels, Zendejas played every minute of the US’s three matches at last year’s Under-17 World Cup.

Chivas has a policy of only fielding Mexican players, but has signed other players with American backgrounds – including former US youth international Juan Pablo Ocegueda – in the past.
