Reports in England on Monday have English side Middlesbrough chasing a transfer day deadline deal for Sporting Kansas City's Kei Kamara.

Sporting KC have yet to issue a formal comment on the reports.

Kamara returned from injury on Saturday to play six minutes in a 2-1 Sporting KC win over the Colorado Rapids. He has seven goals in 15 matches for SKC since returning to MLS after a loan spell with English Premier League club Norwich City ended on May 4.

According to multiple media outlets, Kamara is currently in England to arrange a potential move before joining Sierra Leone for international duty.

Sky Sports also reports that Middlesbrough is just one of several teams pursuing Kamara, citing Crystal Palace, FC Copenhagen and Rayo Vallecano among other interested sides. Monday represents the close of the summer player transfer window for most European countries.
